Jan ameretta would be nice or vanilla, peach, chocolate mocha, vanilla

nut...even cinnamon would be nice I bet. almond? maybe? :)

You may have to use a couple different oils to get the scent you want with

it..but..I've used ameretta in soaps and yum...vanilla and ameretta is nice

and not " lady " scented..My guys love it.

Did you also find a recipe for it? and if so would you share? :)

Yes I made a coffee body scrub for a massage party we did. The recipe I had

said it was a cellulite buster. And I had a lot left over that I gave to a

freind of mine for a food scrub, lasts forever---I made this the last of Feb

and it was still good this week-end. He came for a visit and we used to

have a product that you put foot mud on let it dry, then scrub your feet and

finish off with a massage (rinsing after each step except the massage) Man

I am telling you--you did not want to walk after that LOL. Anyway he and

his wife (my best friend) were visiting this week-end and I had some coffee

scrub and told him to use it and see how he liked it for his feet. I had

some mud, and lotion so it is not what we originally had but it should work

LOL. Waiting to hear from him. Glitz

ooooohhhh...that sounds too interesting! And SweetCakes has a Cinnamon

Hazelnut Coffe FO too. I just love my cinnamon hazelnut coffee creamer. I

don't see why it wouldn't work. It's just a crushed bean, and you could push

it as a morning ritual kind of thing. A " start your day off... " kind of

thing. I saw a soap the other day that supposidly had caffine added to it

to jump start your day, why not start it out with a scrub?!?!!! :)

Okay. Either I missed something or have you guys ever heard of coffee body

polish!? Is that not the living end! I subscribe to Country Living and in

their lastest find section I saw this wonderful looking jar of body polish

that uses ground coffee. What do you think? Yes, my name is Jan and I'm a

coffee addict. Do you think people would like this? It really sounded

wonderful in the ad. I wonder what kind of scent you would put with that

other than coffee bean. Is that a scent? I guess like they do the flavored

coffees. I'm sorry I'm rambling. I'd like this wonderful list's input!

Pam,

I'm drooling over those scents! Thanks for the tip. I have not found a

receipe for it yet. I'm guessing it's the same as salt or sugar scrubs.

The picture shows some and it looks feathery, not oily. It also looks like

there's some brown sugar in there. Cat's the guru. She might have a

receipe. If I find one, I'll surely share.

Sweetly,

Jan

Hi Gayle,

If you weren't buried up to your eyebrows in essays to grade, you'd

know that there was no recipe! LOLOL!!! I'm watching the thread

too, hoping to see a recipe! I just wonder about all those coffee

grounds clogging up the pipes.

<PRE>Jan, Did you go to their web site and it will tell you what they put in it

for fragrance. Not the amounts, but you can guess on that. I made some up

for myself and it makes your skin feel divine and leaves a nice shine, as it

does a good job getting rid of the dead skin. I love it. It leaves little

black specks in the shower, but very easy to rince away. Well worth it, if

not to sell, than for yourself. Esther

I agree with Glitz-----regular coffee-instant coffee--works fine in

making coffee bath salts. French vanilla coffee, ameretto (sp?) coffee

~an flavor will do and come out real nice!!!!! Misty

Misty,

I don't have a recipe for it yet. It was in the latest addition of Country

Living Magazine. There's a picture of it in the magazine. I'm trying to

guess what all goes in it. If I get a good recipe I'll certainly pass it

on to you!

<PRE> Jan, The ingredients are dead sea salts, ground arabica coffee, soybean

oil,

and peppermint. rosemary, orange, spearmint EO's. Vitamin E, methyparaben,

propylparaben.{I didn't have these two items either. It also says rosemary

extract, which I haven't bought any as yet. I used a half cup of oil and

1/4 cup of coffee grounds. Just added the EO's by drops until I liked the

smell. Hope this helps. Let me know when you try it, what you think. I'm

sure the recipe can be played arround with and come up with a good one.

Merry Christmas everyone! Cat, your scrub sounds wonderfull! I don't drink

coffee, but I sure love the smell of it. Your scrub would be perfect for

me!

Cat, just made your coffee scrub and used Vanilla and Hazelnut coffee. Don't

have any of the f.o.s that would fit with this recipe. It smells

wonderfull! I have 4 different scrubs going right now, trying to come up

with one I really really like. In yours, I substitued the oils, using

grapeseed, apricote kernal, and virgin coconut oil. I was hoping the VCO

would help hold the scrub together. Plus I thought the aroma of coffee and

coconut would be wonderfull. LOL! It is! Anyway, I think I need to use some

heavier oils, and maybe use some salt in there too? Will have to see how it

feels on the body, so far only my hands have used it! Such fun! Have a

great day everyone.

I saw your email. I am new to this group. Would you be willing to send me

your coffee scrub recipie? How would you package it for sale?

I'm starting my own candle/bath/body items to sell and this sounds like it

would be neat.

Thanks,

Kathy

Hi Cat

I'm enjoying the coffee scrub, and I'd like to make a suggestion on the

salt. I love the flaky, fine texture of Kosher salt. It has no additives,

is very pure and cleansing. Just make sure you get the finely-milled, not

the coarsely-milled. A five-pound box at the supermarket or Jewish grocery

will run about $2-$2.5. Fabulous stuff. I use sea salts occasionally, but

find the Kosher is less salty in flavor, and has a wonderful texture

(talking about food here, not toiletries :-)

Kathy, here is a copy of Cat's Coffee Scrub. have fun playing with it! I

doubled the recipe, but kept the coffee down to only 2 tbsps for the whole

batch. I used it on my body last night and it felt fine. Wasn't too harsh,

not too soft.. HTH
