I don't know! I have always let Cole be in his jumping swing and jumping exersaucer. He loves it! No one ever told me not to, and I hope I wasn't doing anything to delay correction. So far he has gone from 45 degrees to 15 degrees. Anyone else know about this? basketsnboyds <basketsnboyds@...> wrote: HiJust a quick question- I'm pretty sure that I have read that the bouncy toys (like the johnny jump up or the new Fisher Price one that is stationary on the floor) are a big "NO,NO" for our little ones. Just wanted your input, I got one for a present and was trying to figure out if I needed to hold onto it or just try and exchange it for something else. Evan loves his exersuacer thing and it's good for him to be up off of his head and I plan to get him a beanbag so he's not flat on the

floor half of the day. Thanks. and Evan

I'm not an expert, but I think it would only be bad if the cast causes the child to exceed the weight limit of the swing, exersaucer.

Thanks for the input you all.I just had heard that the movement of bouncing up and down wasn't good on the spine- but that does seem a bit excessive. He needs to be up as much as he can- he can't turn his head in his cast if he's flat on the floor or in a swing/highchair and I don't want his torticollis to get any worse. and Evan" D. Also, again I am not an expert but my little one also had torticollis and then a misshapen head, and if you are considering the helmet for reshaping of the head, it is very important to do that early-- it is just like putting the back in a cast to use growth as a corrective force, but the head does most of it's growth very early so the earlier you start the shorter time you should have to spend in it--we had complete correction because we started we she was 5 months old and she was done in 11 weeks--so much easier than the casts. I also think that I recall that the helmet evened out the weight in her head which then helped the torticollis to resolve as well--once the helmet was done we were done with PT until the scoliosis was found.

I hope it's ok b/c Evanlee loves her exersaucer and loves to bounce up and down. I thought it was good to build strength in her legs and to exercise them. She doesn't get much leg exercise otherwise. , mom of Evanlee & is (9 months) <basketsnboyds@...> wrote: Thanks for the input you all.I just had heard that the movement of bouncing up and down wasn't good on the spine- but that does seem a bit excessive. Hi,

I heard that kids with klippel-feil should not use a trampoline because

of the weak connection of the head to the spine. That is the only " no

no " I've heard so far about bouncing. You may want to ask your doctor

about your child in particular.

My Keegan and his twin Conley loved their ny jump ups soooooo much.

I can't imagine getting through a day back then without them. I imagine

they could also help a little one start building leg and tummy strength

and the beginning of balance.

Good Luck finding answers,

I would email Dr. and ask him. I know my friend who is a physical therapist told me they are bad for the their joints and recommends never to use them for any kid, but I would get a doctor's opinion.

I had heard via the group here that the bouncing was bad; however, I never asked a Dr about it. Madison used her exersaucer and jumparoo daily though. Her correction came very quickly. So I would just say ask your physician to get an answer that is correct for your child.
