We have never required chewable calcium citrate, the pills seem to do just fine....maybe she could just take a pill form of citrate - citracal brand is readily available.

I've told her this, but she likes the chewable form as a " sweet treat. " I'm

just looking for a study that I can reference with the exact difference in

bioavailability after RYGB.

There are a few product popping up in stores now in chewable or liquid form for

the early post op stage then pills are often tolerated. Wellesse liquid calcium

citrate has been seen at various walmarts and stop and stops in RI and MA.

Thank you. I just looked up the Wellesse liquid calcium supplement and it

appears to be made of a combo of both calcium citrate and tricalcium phosphate.

It does not list how many mg of each. Based on the current guidelines, I'm not

sure this is something we should be recommending to our clients.

Twinlab & Solaray have calcium chews and wafers, and should be available in most

stores.
