Guest guest
I have a patient who states that she gets headaches if she has anything that contains milk, whey, casien. She complains gas when having soy milk. She has not had surgery yet, but most of the protein supplements contain whey protein and she has tried several things ahead of time to see if she can tolerate them and she has not been able to. Does anyone know of any supplements that are non dairy. Any help would be appreciated. -- Z. , RD, LDN, CDE

Guest guest
How about beef protein? My local HFS carries it as the owner is allergic to many foods. She says it tastes best with something chocolately, as it has a heavier flavor. Carnivor and Olympian Labs are two makers. Guest guest
Another non-whey, non-soy option is Thorne’s “VegaLite” which is rice and pea protein. (Additional info: it comes in chocolate and vanilla and is sweetened with stevia – designed for bariatric patients.)
