Thanks so much! please apply at http://www.forestparkmc.com/careers/ Location: Dallas, TX Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Type: PRN Department: Dietary (FPMC-Dallas) Description: The Clinical Dietitian participates as a key member of the interdisciplinary team, who monitors nutrition screening, performs nutrition assessments, develops and implements nutrition care plans, provides periodic reassessments to monitor therapy status and educates patients on diet and nutrition issues. This person also serves as a consultant to the Food Services Department and works with the Clinical Nutrition Manager on menu planning, provision of in-service education, orientation and staff education. The Clinical dietitian oversees and coordinates responsibility for patient care performed by the Dietary Director and Diet Server Assistants and helps with food service duties as need or requested. This person works closely with the Bariatric Department to provide nutrition education to potential surgical clients and must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to surgical patients. The Clinical Dietitian must be able to demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedure, its nutritional implication and nutritional requirement to recommend therapeutic diets. Reports to the Clinical Nutrition Manager. Duties: Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and assist the Clinical Nutrition Manager with the Dietary Department, its programs and activities in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards. Conduct Nutritional Screening, Assess nutritional status of patients, make appropriate recommendations, and provide nutrition education for clients and families according to the standards of care Plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate nutrition classes for bariatric patients and provide bariatric education for both pre and postoperative care to patients, families and clinical staff. Is cognizant of and maintains appropriate standards of infection control, safety and quality in the provision of patient care. Qualifications: Education: Requires a B.A. or B.S. degree in Nutrition or related field and completion of an ADA approved dietetic internship, or equivalent is required.
