Guest guest
Hi Diane, We see lots of pre-surgical screenings. Aside from our extensive assessment, we try to discuss post-surgery supplementation needs (vitamin/Min/Pro etc.) Do you have a standardized sheet of information that you provide your pre and post-surgical patients? Guest guest
Hello, I have a patient questioning about methylcobalamin vs. cyancobalamin with vitamin B12 supplementation. I have not read any evidence supporting one over the other. However, with bypass surgery, have any of you heard different. Methylcobalamin is found in the sublingual form, which would be more appropriate. Has anyone heard different? Also, in regard to lab values, for bypass patients, would normal be the higher end for an non-bypass individual? For example, iron levels at normal for a gastric bypass would be 160mcg for a female, vs. 60-160mcg? Thanks, Wichman, RD Benefis Bariartic Institute 406-455-2841 katiewichman@...
