Guest guest
Do you have the amino acid profile of these products? If so send them to me and I'll calculate PDCAAS. Based on data I have on file Profect is not a complete source of protein. The product may have been reformulated. I don't have any data on Proasis.Cordially, Litchford PhD, RD, LDNwww.casesoftware.commdlphd@...Check out the 2010 edition of Laboratory Assessment of Nutritional Status. From: alisha.gillespiemsrd <alisha.gillespie@...> Sent: Wednesday, April 20, 2011 2:53 PMSubject: Re: Profect versus Proasis Protein Beverage Vials Currently my office sells the 2.9 oz Profect vials (100 cal, 0g CHO, 25g PRO) sweetened with sucralose and colored with red 40/blue 1. Patients complain about the taste but still go for the 25g PRO in less han 3 oz. Recently, I came across Proasis made by the same company which is sweetened with cane sugar (120cal, 5g CHO, 25g PRO) is anyone familiar with this product or have any feedback on it? taste, etc.? Or do you know of any equivalent products available? I am trying to re-vamp the protein supplements that we sell in our office & online -- looking for more natural/better tasting products and would love some insight from those of you with more supplement knowledge/experience. What is the best unflavored protein available? We currently have Syntrax, Pro-cal 100, and some Heatlh Wise drinks/soups. (This is my first job working with bariatric patients so I"m also interested in any resources/websites/vit supplements you find interesting, quality, and informative.) Guest guest
, I do not have the amino acid profile of the Protica products currently. I tried to find info online but have been unsuccessful. I also left a VM with the company to see if I can get the info, but I " m guessing they may not be too jolly about releasing it if in fact their product is not a complete source of protein. I am very new to all of these protein products so I " m trying to make sense of it all and understand how to assess them. Do you know of any resources or writeups of how to do so? On a similar note my employer will pay for continuing education, do you know or have you heard good things about any particular bariatric nutrition courses or conferences? Thanks ahead!
