Guest guest
I started taking the Smoothie TumsĀ with Calcium. I had to stop though as I developed a kidney stone and the only thing they could relate it to was the increase in my calcium. From: kookamunga2008 <karynalaroche@...> Subject: Calcium supplements Date: Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 10:15 AM I am hoping to pick the brains of any of you out there who may be taking calcium supplements. I have been trying to find a calcium supplement that does not cause constipation. Because I'm a small eater, I'm not getting enough calcium from dietary sources and this is a big concern since I have osteoporosis. I have tried calcium carbonate and citrate in a variety of forms but I always end up with severe constipation. I'm wondering if anybody else has had this experience and if you have found a solution. Also, I think I may be experiencing muscle weakness as a result of this supplement. I'm taking 1000 mg a day but separated into smaller doses throughout the course of the day. I've heard that calcium is a kind of relaxant so I am wondering if there is a link between the weakness and the supplements. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
