I started taking the Smoothie TumsĀ  with Calcium. I had to stop though as I

developed a kidney stone and the only thing they could relate it to was the

increase in my calcium.

I am hoping to pick the brains of any of you out there who may be taking calcium

supplements.

I have been trying to find a calcium supplement that does not cause

constipation. Because I'm a small eater, I'm not getting enough calcium from

dietary sources and this is a big concern since I have osteoporosis. I have

tried calcium carbonate and citrate in a variety of forms but I always end up

with severe constipation. I'm wondering if anybody else has had this experience

and if you have found a solution.

Also, I think I may be experiencing muscle weakness as a result of this

supplement. I'm taking 1000 mg a day but separated into smaller doses throughout

the course of the day. I've heard that calcium is a kind of relaxant so I am

wondering if there is a link between the weakness and the supplements.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All,

Just wondering if anyone has any information on the new Citracal Slow Release

1200 calcium and vit D supplement in terms of its appropriateness for Bariatric

surgery (roux-en-Y) patients.

Would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
