Guest guest
We use a product at our hospital called Bananatrol Plus. It contains a pre-biotic and it has been helpful in treating diarrhea on patients getting po intake and / or tube feedings. For a tube feeding, 1 pack is mixed with water and flushed down the tube. We typically do this bid or tid. If you are interested, just let me know and I can get you the contact / order information. I have a pt w/esophageal ca-s/p peg & trach placement; developed ileus-now resolving. Having trouble w/diarrhea. Started pt on glucerna 1.5(diabetic),bolus feeds. Switched to Jevity 1.5 continous feeds. Had to titrate in quarter strengths to obtain goal 60ml-now at goal rate/strengh however not able to stop diarrhea for any lenght of time. I suspect it is due to the 1.5kcal formulas but pt is unable to tolerate greater volume. Any ideas. He is on pepto; lomotil dc'd due to ileus. C.Dif(-).
