Guest guest
Interesting! I just found this article and we are now considering routine lab checks for vitamin A. We previously only checked vitamin D as far as fat soluble vitamins. In what procedures exactly are you finding high levels of fat soluble vitamins? Sleeves or also bands? http://www.springerlink.com/content/b532u2412753kp30/fulltext.pdf Thank you, Cristiana--- Mar 23/11/10, Krystal Cameron <kcameron@...> ha scritto: Da: Krystal Cameron <kcameron@...>Oggetto: High lab valuesA: Data: Martedì 23 novembre 2010, 20:16 Has anyone seen high lab values regarding pts fat soluble vitamins? We recently started checking vitamins A, E, and K along with our typical post op labs but we are finding a large percentage of patients’ levels are coming back high. Does anyone have any research articles they could share regarding this or give me insight as to what may be the cause? Guest guest
Thanks, Cristiana. We have only been checking A, E, and K in RNY, distal RNY and BPD/DS patients (we check vitamin D on every type of surgery). I haven’t noticed a particular surgery having high values over any other, however vitamin K seems to be the vitamin that comes back high frequently. Thank you so much for the article. I would love to hear input from others who are testing fat-soluble vitamins. Krystal Krystal Cameron, RD, LDN Registered Dietitian New Life Center for Bariatric Surgery 200 Ft.
