Can anyone tell me what specific lab test you run to test for vitamin D levels?

My surgeon tells me that there is more than one test and he is wondering if you

must run a different test dependent on whether the patient is taking vitamin D3

vs. D2. We are getting ready to start someone on 50,000IU of D2 weekly and want

to make sure we are testing correctly to prevent overdose. Thanks!
