Hi group! I just wanted to run something by you all since Vitamin D is such a

hot topic. What is everyone recommending for Vitamin D3 supplementation? We

follow: total Vitamin D < 20ng/mL, call in Vitamin D2 rx for 50,000 IU 2x/week

for 8 wks and retest. If total Vitamin D < 30ng/mL, we recommend 1000 IU of

Vitamin D3 daily. After supplementation and retests, we're noticing that

Vitamin D levels do not stabilize. We're starting to recommend 2000 IU of

Vitamin D3 daily, along with calcium supplementation. What are other programs

doing?

Thank you in advance!

For <20 deficiency we give 50,000 IUs once weekly x 8 weeks; encourage dairy/salmon/egg yolks and sun exposure. Then 2000 IUs of D3 daily. For 20 and over levels 2000 IUs D 3 daily and increase sun/foods high in Vit D + Calcium with D and MVI/min that has the D.

have to look at 25-hydroxy vitamin D, which is considered the "storage" form and has longer half life.--- Gio 7/10/10, Ciara Halpin <cmhalpin7@...> ha scritto:
