Okay, so the lab that we used to do the majority of our bloodwork is not able to do RBC transketolase. What would you recommend? Finding a different lab, if possible? Or waiting a longer period of time before checking serum thiamin again? Or going by the patien't symptoms?

I've looked at the ASMBS guildelines for treating thiamin deficiency...if I read correctly, it recommends 20-30 mg orally daily. Where do you find this dose? The smallest dose I can find (I've checked Celebrate, Bariatric Advantage, GNC and Walmart) is 100 mg.

Thanks again,

Anne
