The PES statement we use most for our pts is:

Altered GI function related to altered GI structure as evidenced

by gastric bypass surgery.

I typically use...

Aaltered GI fxn related to change in GI motility (for lapbands) or change in GI anatomical structure (for Sleeve/GBP) related s/p ...... (surgery).

It works... although I have used Food and Nutrition related knowledge deficit for those patients who were not properly educated prior to surgery on their post-op diet.

Hope that helps!

Hello,

I'm looking for some good PES statements to use for inpt bariatric pts on POD 1 (assuming an uncomplicated case). Any standard ones that you use on a regular basis?

Thanks!
