I know that opinions and competing philosophies are all part of your considerations. And that’s why I am writing to ask that chiropractors, physical therapists and naturopaths are allowed to practice under their full scope of practice within all Coordinated Care Organization models you are considering. I am writing on behalf of my patients (who have received copies of this email) as well as my naturopathic and physical therapist colleagues in the interest of promoting active care lifestyles, sound, current nutritional advice, and cost-effective, efficacious hands-on therapy. These therapies are proven to be effective from both a cost and clinical perspective and without the side effects of pharmaceuticals and costs of surgery. Statistics are clear that lifestyle choices including exercise, nutrition, smoking and drug and alcohol use are at the core of our epidemic of degenerative diseases and that our current health care expenditures are not sustainable with current treatment trends. The professions I’ve listed will be most effective at delivering that care and promoting that self-empowered, patient-centered, cost-effective health care vision.
