Guest guest
Hi Helen, Thank you for the welcome! I Have Crohn's Disease and I have had a total of 17 surgeries 6 in the last year ....5 in the last 5 months....They have left my stomach open and everytime it closes I develope another abcess...they say it is all a part of the disease..and it takes forever for it to heal anyways because I am on daily immunosupressants as well as I go every 8 weeks and have IV immunosuppression...I cannot even walk or move without living on steroids because every joint in my body has arthritis...and everytime they have tries to lower the meds I cannot walk...I have alot of trouble with food and eating....there are so many foods that I cannot tolerate and then the foods I can eat it seems to make me sick....I went 9 weeks after my first surgery in feb. without eating due to severe pain and lost 42 pounds....weight is a big issue as the doctors want to make sure that I maintain a healthy weight...The steroids help in that area ...more from the swelling then food intake....Currently I just had my last surgery about 3 weeks ago so I am currently packing my stomach twice a day and it has recently become infected again...I have to take B 12 shots twice a week...I am always run down and tired...I have about 10 on a good day up to 30 bowel movements a day...About 20 to 30 minutes after I eat I am in the bathroom...I struggle most days just to get up out of bed but I know I have to take care of my children so I have no choice but to keep moving...My kids are older so there is some freedom as to what they can do but still they need their mother...I lost my job and have been unable to get any help with this at all and my husband has been working 12 to 14 hours a day just to make up what we lost...So it is frustrating to say the least. Thank you for this group! Tina How low will we go? Check out Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates.
