Guest guest
Hi, all, I'm sure this has been discussed before, but if anyone wants to chime in with some input, that would be great. Here's the situation: Woman was in a MVA last September. She began treatment here in mid-July. It clearly states on the doc's notes that "She states that she felt some pain soon after the accident though she didn't seek any care because she was more concerned about making sure that her daughter was okay." (Daughter had recently had surgery before the MVA) "She states that the pain continued to persist and get worse where she ended up having to quit her job as a housekeeper. She finally went to her MD who recommended she seek eval and Tx for chiropractic care...." Regressive -- oops, I mean Progressive -- Insurance denies her claim (the adjuster told me it was because there was such a lapse between accident and treatment) and is now going to send her to an IME. Let's guess how that will turn out. She's only had five visits, and now the insurance adjuster is undoubtedly scaring her out of more treatment. It is worth noting that she is a very limited English speaker and is not at all familiar with how the system works. So I'm looking for advice on how to be proactive and have insurance at least pay for the 5 visits she had. Comments welcome, on- or off-list. Thanks, Alan , for Tamara Blum, D.C.
