Guest guest
Elly, you trully are genuinelly kind. Now Is " gerd " by any chance like acid? I 've had THAT kind of problem since I was 10,12. Where I wold get atacks of pain & acid vomit usually trigered by pork, avocado & LAMB was an abolute hospital trip, but my mom insisted It was in my head to get out of eating what I wanted only " . By the time I was 27, here in USA was DX wt. gallblader & that helped a lot but left side stomach pains & other discomforts went covered up wt. antiacid for yrs. Till was 52 & the new OBGYN sent me for Colonoscopy that they saw I had the hiatal Hernia. That specialist wanted a follow up for that but I felt to sick to go that day so cancel & never made new appmt. so to this day I don't know IF they're spoused to do something " extra " for that , but I felt I had so many more other health issues I HAD to go C- Dr's for trying to get DX for " THIS " ( I still haven't) that I put it aside. I do plan to get in to see that specialist once all this is finnaly on course. I'm waiting to see if I get aproved for Rituxan, & got sent to pain specialist who is also checking me for a bunch of other possible causes of pains, like hormonal female & Endocrinological even Lyme desease.... All stuff that sholuld 've allready been checked into. Hope your 72 hrs. forced rest is going down fast for you. Try to enjoy it since it is " prescribed " . Guest guest
Vivi Yes it is from acid. And yes they can do some thing to slow it down with meds fact is I take a one pill a day to shut down some of my acid pumps in my stomach. If let go it can make trouble for you. Gerd dose not matter on age but some food can make it happen for people more then others for me any thing with tomato souses but not fresh garlic big time also set me off laying flat at night no no for me and eating less then 3 hours before I go to bed big no! if done I am up that night hugging the porcelain thrown (toilet) and letting it have what ever I had for dinner or snake that night . It also gets all my, meds that I so carefully made sure to take before I went to bed LOL. So yes have it looked at. in my case as can happen to some people it has raised another problem and that is were my stomach lining has now grown up my esophagus a bit and that can also lead to a possibility of another problem and well just gots to love all of it because any thing not normal like us can lead to the possibility of LOL Hugs the rednecks Marty & G. the redneck's my space http://www.myspace.com/martyg58 To learn about Stills Disease http://www.stillsdisease.org/stills_info For conservitive minded people http://www.americac2c.org " If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under. Guest guest
So sorry to hear this is still going on. We already talked about a possible PE but you were told it was not that. I hope they figure it out soon! Take care, friend!  Lori ________________________________ From: Moss <lindajmoss@...> Sent: Sun, January 10, 2010 12:34:56 PM Subject: hiatal hernia  i have had problems with my stomach since xmas morning, wind, and bloating, and had long period of feelings short of breath each day. i have seen three docs so far who have failed to diagnose anything accept to say my lungs sound fine, as is ox and co2. i have significant scoliosis and when i try to take a deep breath in my chair resistance is met and a squelchy sound can be heard by anyone in same room. from googling i am wondering if i have a hiatal hernia and wondering if anyone here has any experience of such. i am generally fine when lying down and also better in my chair at the end of the day. i am not experiencing any of the usual symptoms such as heartburn etc. wind and bloating virtually gone now too, just left with this awful shortness of breath when i talk which is severely limiting me. hope someone can shine some light on this! linda

Guest guest
Listmates,I was contacted by a 35 yo. female with a hiatal hernia. She is interested in soft tissue manipulation to address this. Any suggestions or do you know of any reliable providers that could work with her conservatively? Thanks, Corll, ville
Guest guest
, There is a very effective manipulation for releasing the stomach inferiorly. However, there are many things to consider when a patient is in need of this treatment. First of all is it an actual "hiatal hernia" or an imbalanced muscular function of the diaphragm around the esophageal hiatus, etc. The esophagus is a very muscular structure that can contract (especially with chronic stress, bad diet, etc.) and the diaphragm fibers around the hiatus can lock the superior portion of the stomach up against the diaphragm causing many symptoms none the least of which is breathing problems and indigestion. This condition can mimic a heart attach. I would be happy to describe the manipulation procedure in detail if you would like. There is an excellent protocol that we teach in Applied Kinesiology that evaluates and addresses this condition. Domby D.C.
