Guest guest
Calorie Levels for post-op patients: depends on how active they are. In general I tell my patients to consume 1000-1400 calories daily once on a regular diet... more if they are exercisers. Pre-op insurance needed weight management class: We charge $25 out of pocket fee per class... some insurance companies require 3 visit and others 7 visits. We offer signed reciepts if a patient would like to file for reimbursement on their own. As far as being a dietitian in a Bariatric Program. Our program feels that it is a big task and an extremely important piece of the bariatric patient's sugery success. Althought it may be difficult because every surgeon likes to have different requirements for his/her patient, we do offer both pre and post op classes for our patients as well as monthly support groups. The dietitian is responsible for setting up the diets in the surgical hospital as well as providing information to the patients.
