Guest guest
All, Here's a sample letter to send. It's part of Vern's suggestion with a small bit of mine at the end. Feel free to use it if you like. Minga If we are going to change how we deliver healthcare and not just how we pay for it we must include alterative health care providers and their natural interventions, natural as in without the use of drugs. In 2009 three years ago there 3.6 billion prescription purchases, that’s “B†for billion! Which was a 71% increase since 1994 and since that number was three years ago the number of prescription purchases has likely increased. There are so many natural remedies that work and so many drugs that don’t. Please do not allow the coming “coordinated care organizations†to discriminate against chiropractors, naturopaths, acupuncturists…. Some legislators feel that the 'front end' cost is higher with alternative care. I would counter that the cost of lost productivity is FAR greater. As a constituent living in Oregon, who's purchased private health insurance for over 3 decades, I will say that I use alternative care far more than standard allopathic drug intervention. I pay approximately $700/month for my care. I get no dental, eye coverage. Almost no alternative care or mental health care. I would like equality in coverage when paying such a high premium, but also feel that any insurance should cover state licensed and regulated care. Minga Guerrero DC abowoman@...
