Guest guest
Janet's got good advice ... my only addition would be to block him prone first (takes out the torque on the disc). skSunny Kierstyn, RN DC Fibromyalgia Care Center of Oregon 2677 Willakenzie Road, 7CEugene, Oregon, 97401541- 654-0850; Fx; 541- 654-0834www.drsunnykierstyn.com CC: To: docgumby30@...From: bodytalk@...Date: Wed, 21 Dec 2011 20:14:20 -0800Subject: Re: Antalgia Question Check PsoasCheck Atlas - lovett brother to L5. Guest guest
I had one case that I pigeon holed myself into believing there was no possibility that there could be a disc herniation, as there were no real radicular signs or symptoms, and I was absolutely sure the case was a simple SI sprain, with antalgia. oops, was I ever wrong. An MRI showed a large L5/S1 herniation. So, my suggestion would be to second guess even your best gut instinct on these stubborn cases and send the patient out for an MRI to be sure of what you are dealing with. Just my 2 cents.
