Guest guest
Hello- I have recently ordered a permit from the Wash. State Liquor Board so that I will be able to purchase organic alcohol. I am not ready to sell any products yet, but I am trying to understand the federal regulations regarding selling cosmetics and perfume containing alcohol. Last night I spent a lot of time reading the NP files and archives regarding alcohol and Bitrex, as I had seen a website (Snowdrift's)that states that the FDA (not Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms)requires Bitrex to be added to alcohol to prevent ingestion and accidental poisoning, and that there are no exceptions. I noticed that someone had run into this problem a couple of years ago and posted about it, but I didn't see any further comments. I wrote to FDA but have not received a response. I'm assuming members of this forum are not using Bitrex in their perfumes and other products? Is there some way around the rule? Thanks for any information you can share, Autumn
