Guest guest
Colleagues - follow up here are some very brief statements your patients and you can use as a guide as per what to email the "Oregon Health Policy Board" about not allowing Oregon's coming "Coordinated Care Organizations" to discriminate against "non-MD - providers." Please ensure that I can choose to see my chiropractor do not allow these coordinated care organizations to discriminate against my chiropractor. My medical doctor would only give me drugs which I didn't want only my chiropractor helped me and without drugs. These Coordinated Care Organizations must not be allowed to discriminate against chiropractors. Non-discrimination language must be included in Oregon's law dealing with CCOs similar to the federal health care bill Sec. 2706 otherwise nothing changes. The hospital controlled CCOs will discriminate against CAM providers and the result will be drugs, drugs, and oh ya more drugs. If we as a state are truly serious about changing how we deliver health care and not just how we pay for it the coming CCOs cannot be allowed to discriminate against non-MD providers such as chiropractors, naturopaths, massage therapists, acupuncturists, etc. I have used non-drug approaches for my health for years I see my chiropractor, naturopath, and massage therapist for my health care needs please make sure the CCOs do not discriminated against this natural healers. We have become a nation of "pill poppers" and just this year deaths due to prescription drugs now out number deaths due to car accidents in this country! I refuse to take drugs which is all medical doctors know I prefer more natural drug-free approaches which is why I see a chiropractor and naturopath. Just make darn sure these natural healers are not discriminated against make sure they are included in the CCOs. The only help I ever got for my headaches was from my chiropractor make sure they are included in these CCOs. The chiropractic physician I see was the only doctor who really took the time to showed me in a way I understood not only why but how to start changing my diet, good safe forms of aerobic exercise and strength training, and breathing techniques to de-stress. Make sure the CCOs do not discriminate against these healers. "Emails to the Oregon Health Policy Board - Today - Last Chance Before the Christmas Holiday Weekend!" Dear Colleagues, This is you last chance for you and your patients to send in an email to the "Oregon Health Policy Board" before the Christmas holiday weekend. DO IT TODAY! Send you email comments to OHPB.Info@... Remember doctors have multiple examples of short paragraphs one or two lines on a single sheet of paper to hand to your patients today. Examples of email messages they can send to the OHPB stating how the coming "Coordinated Care Organizations" cannot be allowed to discriminate against "complementary and alternative medical providers" (CAM) such as chiropractors, naturopaths, acupuncturists, optometrists, psychologists, massage therapists etc., etc. Its kinda fun when the patients all start emailing the OHPB right there in the reception room or treatment room with their iphones or blackberrys ha! Merry Christmas to you all and lets all hit a home run with our patients today - safe travels to you all this holiday weekend!
