Bilateral lower extremity neuropathy and skin discoloration

Here is a case I am too close to and for which I would appreciate some feedback.

Pat, my almost 90 year old mother in law, is here for a visit.

She complains of bilateral distal lower extremity discoloration--looks brownish/reddish/purple. No history of LE ulcers.

In addition, she says her legs and feet feel like "I am wearing heavy socks"--loss of sensation.

She says her leg muscles feel strong, but they become fatigued with prolonged standing/walking.

Her MD says she has 'neuropathy'. She is afraid to go back to the MD for follow up check ups because she says "he will report me to DMV and my license will be revoked".

Yes, she still drives, mostly to close locations, including a local winery where she has been asked to show and sell the beautiful jewelry she makes. Only 6 artisans are allowed to do this. She goes weekly to a meditation and yoga group, plays cards once a week, and sees a naturopath who has her coming for 3x/week therapy sessions---mostly exercise to keep her strength and balance up.

She is active, mentally sound, great eye sight and is one of the most 'with it' elders I know.

Ann, it sounds like Venous Stasis. I have treated this in the past

with Horse Chestnut Seed Extract. It works wonderfully. Make sure

you check on dosage requirements of whatever source you use.
