Guest guest
Ok docs, this is for me My right proximal biceps tendon is hypertrophied and I have chronic, recurrent right shoulder pain due to impingement. My shoulder are pretty stable. I have worked through some functional movement patterns over the last 3 years and have given it a rest as I become functional. I recently started MMA and whitewater kayaking again. I train MMA once a week for an hour and am in my kayak for a couple of hours every other week..... So I'm not overdoing it and I have much better mobility and stability of my upper quadrant than I have ever had. The biceps tendon keeps getting inflamed. I can barely lift my arm today, in 3-5 days, it'll be better but I need to fix this. I am going to try PRP first before any surgical considerations but I want to figure out what's out there and what works. I am not going to stop MMA or paddling or anything else that fulfills my mind/body/spirit because life is much more than not being in pain. I have tried cold laser, fascial manipulation (I could probably do more of this), Graston and dry needling. These help for a bit; cold laser and other therapies have helped to knock back the pain for 1-2 weeks at a time, dry needling helped for 3 weeks. Have you had patients who have has success with surgery? What other therapies should I try? PRP will probably work well and I have thought of doing some Shockwave therapy if it does not completely fix it. I'd like to have a solid game plan if these ideas don't completely resolve the issue. Thanks for the ideas -Tim Irving DC, MS, LMT
Guest guest
Check your cervical curve, atlas and skull relationship. Natural anti-inflammatory like omega-3 (3-4 grams daily). You may also want to try kettlebells using the Skogg system. spinal quest health technologies A Center For Non-Surgical Treatment Of Scoliosis Carl Bonofiglio, D.C. 503-608-7484 Fax 1-800-366-9518 info@... -- Treatment options for hypertrophied biceps tendon and chronic shoulder pain.....
