I'm with Vern on this one!!! Just had a young man come in last week did a tour in Iraq and 2 in Afganistan. Got out 4 months ago has had LB pain from IED's and carrying heavy pack, he is now a wild land firefighter, he started crying when I told him I would not charge him and it was my way of thanking him for his service. They were there for us we need to be here for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Dr. A Caughlin DC CAC155 NW 1st Ave Day, Or. 97845 office 541-575-1063 fax 541-575-5554spbkchiro@...; From: vsaboe@...Date: Fri, 28 Oct 2011 08:57:13 -0700Subject: RE: Re: My first VA referral!

Agreed as per the error of the “PRESCRIPTION” but I absolutely disagree with your now requesting the veteran who has served our country and who the great majority of which have permanent injuries that you are not going to “fix” but rather manage to then require they make other arrangements which is pay me cash will not get us where we need to go. Many if not most of our veterans don’t have a “pot to pee in” and they will simply continue on the medical model of drugs, drugs and more drugs. We are very close to breaking through to the VA which HAS NO MONEY and gaining full chiropractic services on the hill, at the outpatient clinic, fee for services, as well as opening the teaching hospital to DCs….but, we must continue to show positive outcomes with our treatments and that isn’t going to happen if we are not willing to “give…” for at least a little while longer…help me help you and other colleagues and most importantly our veterans who deserve chiropractic! Blessings to you dear colleague…that’s what I’m talking about….hundreds of veterans telling there chiropractic story to the policy makers at the VA is having the desired effect and we get the added benefit of serving others who have served us and they are all so appreciative. Well done Dr. Caughlin…well done….Vern Saboe From: Charlie Caughlin [mailto:caughlindrc@...] Sent: Friday, October 28, 2011 9:14 AMDr Vern Saboe DC; spbkchiro@...; Subject: RE: Re: My first VA referral! We have come across similar experiences the VA and current Vets. I tell them I will see them 6 times gratis as have all of our LMT’s. I concur they have problems that will be managed, not cured. One of our vets was in “50-60” IED explosions!! Larry L. Oliver, DC408 NW 7thCorvallis, OR541-757-9933fax 541-757-7713www.heresco.com dro@... For those of you who want to provide the care, there is a program called Returning Veterans project. http://www.returningveterans.org/ This is an organization that you can sign up with and provide complementary care to recent vets and their families. It makes a huge difference to these guys and gals and is another way that we can give our care away and it is tracked what these vets are going for (ie chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, etc) This way it is another data base that can show how many vets are seeking our care and being helped out by us. The first month we were posted on-line we had three patients signed up. You can choose how many people you want to help out as well. You can limit it to one or open it up to anyone who wants to come to you. All of the practitioners in my office are asked to participate in this program. It is well worth it. Respectfully,
