Question of safety

Legal folks and docs,An acquaintance of mine, not a pt, in her upper 70’s has a husband of similar age who is described as alcoholic and who is now becoming senile as well. She describes him has having ‘rages of anger’ and being ‘obsessed with sex.’ He put his cane through an $800 TV set last week. She is beginning to have some concerns for her own safety. She and her children are obviously concerned but have no idea how to handle this situation or what options they have. She is torn between remaining in a potentially unsafe environment and making the situation worse if she moves out. As she described the situation to me it sounded like he needs to be in a facility of some kind. How do I advise this woman? What are her options? Thanks in advance for your responses.Larry L.
