"Their theory, published in the Biophysical Journal, explains how nerves and anesthetics work as follows: Nerves are made of lipids that are liquid at body temperature. A yet-to-be-defined mechanism creates high-pressure, semisolid waves that move through the cells, delivering messages."Thanks for the post, Doc. This notion that energetic "waves" move through "cells, delivering messages" is consistent with our still early understanding of Quantum Physics. That is, that we are each constantly exposed to waves of energy representing all possibilities of "reality" manifestation, which encounter our DNA structure and in turn, limit the possibilities to be manifest. These infinite potential possibilities are also limited by our physicality, ideally a hollow or unobstructed tube, but inhibited by "rigidities" or abnormalities manifested by our particular physical experiences (think traumas, toxins, scar tissue, subluxations, compressed organs, poor posture, etc. . . . ), as well as our "qualitative" misinformation (think DD's "auto-suggestion). "Misinformation" in the sense of our experience leading us to our "understanding" or philosophy of reality, which in turn forms our experience to reinforce our formed philosophy. We feedback to ourselves that which we see in our experience, leading to misinformation, declining potential, discomfort, disease, and early death. Such research as reported in Dr. Beebe's post is the "Devil in the details" of what Dr. Palmer had intuited a century ago. We must not allow our clinical practices, nor our profession, to be limited to only that which can be explained fully today, IMHO. Thanks again, doc. It is such a shame that our newer Doc's aren't familiar with the likes of Stephanson, DD and our own grown Homewood ( Neurodynamics of the Vertebral subluxation ) of course there is no such thing , right MJB? DD likened the VSC to a violin string across the violins bridge giving the string either to much tension ( tone) or to little... mostly too much. Here is a link from Doc P showing that DD actually, without todays technolgy, understood more about the human body than he was given credit for. My question to you all is... how did he understand this principle 100 years ago? It is probably a time to endorse the wonderful advantages of Chiropractic and the removal of the VSC..... as that would be congruent with calling oneself a Chiropractor.
