Guest guest
Dear Shar et al,From the information I gathered at a meeting last night, the school's sole purpose is to pump out primary care physicians, nothing else. This was seen as an altruistic social value versus a monetarily motivated medical school (you know who they are). I am slowly but surely trying to convince the board members of the NW Health Foundation (nwhf.org) that DC's can fill that role and have for decades. This group does a lot of advocacy at the capital. The key in my opinion is to coalesce not only our profession and en facie political relationships with other CAMs, but we must prevail amongst philanthropic groups that are well funded in their endeavors to ameliorate the social well being for all.I was nominated by one of our Senators into the pipeline for this board. I'll keep you all appraised. Guest guest
Yes, they are planning an advance degree program with a focus on functional medicine/primary care as in non-pharmacologic interventions a Masters level degree type deal. Guest guest
All, Boy, can I ever echo that sentiment. Having made a career of steering (very sick fibro) people to 'fundamental nutrition' and watching person after person after person aster person after person start to thrive and blossom .... to slowly not need one or more of those putrafacations (my choice of words)., to be able to changed from an over-medicated semi-zombi to a thinking, productive, smiling member of society is more than enough reason for me NOT to need prescriptive rights. Let the DOs have the little paper pad .... it is MUCH more fun to be the doc who 'gets 'em back in their life without drugs'! When we get prescriptive rights, our next generation will never (need to) discover what it takes to get a person out of pain .... without drugs!
