Calendar item: Oregon Public Health Week April 4-8 focuses on injury and violence prevention

Oregon Public Health Week’s focus this year is “Safety is NO Accident: Prevent Injuries and Violence in Oregon.”

WHAT: Oregon Public Health Week activities include a speaker series, web-based seminars, panel discussions, and healthy activities, exhibits and contests.

WHEN: April 4 through 8.

WHERE: Portland, Salem and throughout the state. (Some counties are planning their own Public Health Week activities.)

WHY: Oregon Public Health Week is intended to raise awareness of critical public health issues and to help people learn ways to prevent injuries and violence in their homes and communities. The week is in conjunction with the National Public Health Week.

WHO: These events are made possible because of sponsors such as the Northwest Health Foundation and other community groups.
