THanks for this Don…had a OSU researcher interview me many months ago a J Bean, MPH did she interview you? She was gathering info on chiropractors view of vaccinations. When we finished she said that my response was both unanticipated and unique to what she had been told during prior interviews. What did I say, I told her that the in my opinion one of the central issues in this debate is that of bioethics. As in the bioethical principles of informed consent that an individual has a fundamental right to refuse a medical procedure that has a risk of injuring them and there is a good amount of evidence injury is happening. I told her (like I’ve said a million times)contemporary bioethics acknowledges an individual’s human right to autonomy and self determination and that no secular governmental body nor individual has the right to treat another individual(s) as a means to an end, no matter how well intended or alluring that end may seem to be. That the scientific community had rejected long ago the supposed moral argument that the equally supposed benefits for the many can justify the sacrifice of the few.
