Hi Joe,You are correct. When whole grains are compared with the SAD, they show great promise. The same is true of comparing just about any whole food against the SAD. But when grain-based diets are compared to low carbohydrate (some would call this evolutionary correct carbohydrate), they loose out. They loose in most respects. Also, some versions of paleo are a great way to aid in the recovery of anal fissures. Dairy seems to be the biggest offending/inflammatory agent. A quick google search provided some studies . If you really wanted to know, they are there. Seems you're quite passionate about the Paleolithic diet, but it shouldn't get in the way of the FACT that there are endless studies purporting the benefits of whole grain consumption.
