Guest guest
I have a patient with a 10 year long injury. Works, flares up, gets care, usually keeps working. Heavy equipment operator. Applied for 8 weeks of diminishing care for an aggravation of his injury. Low back pain increasing to cause neuritis with MRI ruling out disc herniation. So the reviewer who has a masters and a DABCO sends back a denial saying that he came in for “tight muscles” when my report said, “hypertonic lumbar pair of spinal muscles, palpatory pain, some peripheral neuritis into his right leg, and spinal subluxations.” Then she quotes studies proving that he shouldn’t get care. My argument in part is that patients show up in her “practice” with these findings are probably not turned away as untreatable. If you are interested, her opinion is attached with names redacted. E.
