Guest guest
Yep, been doing this for a few years now. I use NCMIC for credit card processing and their security company charges $24.99 per year. Christian Mathisen, DC, CCWFN 3654 S Pacific Hwy Medford, OR 97501 cmathdc@... Credit Card Processing Question My credit card processing company says I must "comply" with the PCI-DSS data security standards and the cost to me will be an additional $6.95 a month for this "valuable service". Are you having to do this too, or do I need to search out another processor?Joan Schultze, DCLake Oswego
Guest guest
I get that for $50.00 year from CashPractice.com.Everybody who takes credit cards and uses their computer as a conduit between the credit card swiper and the gateway has to do it. The compliance process tests the computer for certain things, like up to date security patches and when complete asks you to download a certificate. In one of my former lives, Sage was my gateway and they charged $6.95 a month. So that fee is not out of line. -- Eileen Machida, DC503-893-0125
Guest guest
Let me correct my previous post. There is a processing fee when they do this. It is quite a bit more than I posted previously. However once you do it, the costs go down.Sorry for misleading. I do not think $6.95 is unreasonable. -- Eileen Machida, DC503-893-0125
Guest guest
This is from my rep. at NCMIC who gives great rates, a free terminal, and 12 lunches at Sheri’s. (last part is a lie.) Hi Dr. Abrahamson, PCI Compliance is a requirement of Visa and MasterCard no matter who you process with. Each processor handles it differently...we leave it up to our merchants to do their annual PCI Compliance. Two options: Since you have an analog terminal, you can visit www.securitymetrics.com, and complete their PCI Compliance questionnaire (about 25 questions). Once you complete the questionnaire, they will bill you for $24.95 (fee negotiated w/ them if you process with NCMIC), and they will send you a certificate of completion. You may also visit www.visa.com and complete their PCI Compliance questionnaire FREE. Most other processors charge up to $100 per year for PCI Compliance with an analog terminal, or they charge you monthly (up to $25) for NOT becoming compliant. Let me know if you have questions. Thank you! Best regards, E. Abrahamson, D.C.
