A controversial study has shown large daily doses of B vitamins can halve the rate of brain shrinkage caused by mild cognitive impairment, which is linked to Alzheimer's and other dementias. The Oxford University team studied brain shrinkage in 168 volunteers. Over two years, vitamins B6, B12 and folate slowed atrophy by 30%, up to 53% in some cases. The research, published in Public Library of Science ONE, bucks current theories and undermines firms which have spent money on drugs. Prof said: " This is a striking result, much more than we predicted. " But he warned people against taking large doses until further tests. ----------------------------------- Related Information Cognitive, Memory Decline & Nutrition by J Railey _http://chetday.com/memory.pdf_ (http://chetday.com/memory.pdf)
