Difficulty with childbearing

When I read this study I was amazed that the suspicions I had always

had about the birth of my first child might actually have some

validity. After the delivery I asked my doctor and several others

down thru the years if CMT could have had any impact on the

complications I experienced. They all thought I was being overly

sensitive to this disease and putting too much emphasis on what had

happened. My experience was that I went two weeks over my due date

with my oldest son, they induced labor which helped me to dialate to

4 at which point they broke my water - never dilated any further.

Then 27 hours later they did an emergency c-section! I've always

wondered if my CMT had anything to do with this. Another

correlation is this is my offspring that inherited the CMT. My

other son was a scheduled c-section, so I don't know what might have

progressed with him since he doesn't exhibit any signs of CMT yet.

My boys are 22 and 20. Just wanted to share my experience with this.

P.S. I think a poll on this would be good. Surely the men wouldn't

mind just this once! Especially for any young couples who haven't

started their families - the future dads might be interested in the

results.
