Be careful of how much tuna you are eating you can get mercury poison

from eating lots of certain types of fish. I'm not a vegetarian but I

think others can give you some advice on other protein options.

thanks, I forgot about the mercury thing. I just bought a 12 pack

of turkey patties.

I still want easy non/low lactose meal/snack ideas.

Hey there,

I also can't take much lactose. Of course there is a wide array of

soy products to choose from. For meals on the go, I've found 2 brands

of bars. Clif bars which taste better, but have less than 20%

protein. The other point of concern for me anyway, is that they have

at least 5grams of Fiber per bar, which most bars, dairy or not have

very little. I love the chocolate brownie. They do outsource their

non-dairy chocolate and can't gaurantee trace amounts, but I've never

had any issues with them. You can find them at any health food store,

and many grocery stores. The other choice is revival soy, which has

about 30%. Some of them have dairy, but some don't. The marshmallow

crunch tastes similar to rice crispy treats. They also have shakes

that you can get unsweetened or sweetened with splenda. I've never

tried them myself. You need to order these via their web site.

Hope that helps,

Hi Irene,

I buy Lactaid low fat cottage cheese and it is great!! It is the

only lactose-free brand that I have found and it has made a massive

difference to the side-effects I used to experience with regular

cottage cheese. Here's a picture of what it looks like:

I just find it in the cottage cheese section at my regualar grocery

store, so I don't think it is too difficult to come by.

Hope this helps...

Katrina.
