Because it depends on what clogged means..... An atomizer is essentially a pump, manually operated.....pumping the stuff up through a sophisticated orifice or nozzle.... If the nozzle is the culprit....maybe soak in ethanol (aka perfumer's or Everclear) or rubbing alcohol...aka isopropyl alcohol.... Or even acetone....aka nail polish remover, or available at a hardware store.... Nail polish remover usually has some kind of whatever scent to it....I suppose to make it more palatable..... The hardware store stuff is better....it'll even pull weird dyes out of gemstones..... But you hafta handle it with caution...gloves and ventilation and that kinda stuff... Chemically pure acetone evaporates so fast that it will frost yer fingers....<G>... I use it as my big gun solvent.... Maybe remove any rubber component, and soak.... If the pumping mechanism is dead.....you hafta replace it.... If it's just bulb providing air pressure through a nozzle.... I think in your case it might only be the nozzle....? Years back was dealing with a Railroad Line here in WI...... Guys were buying Hudson Sprayers....a dozen at a time, on a regular basis.... One day a Buyer Honch called me up whining about the fact that the sprayers died so often....They were only using them for cleaning.... I laughed and said.....What The Hell are you doing, running Tri-chlor through them.....? Uhhhh.....they were.....to clean the rail cars..... Tri-chlor, like alcohol but much nastier, attacks O-rings and stuff like that that makes up a pump.... Solved his problem, by selling replacement parts to him (o-rings, etc.), but my outfit took a hit in the shorts...due to the lost sales of sprayers.... Was OK, because later when he needed some major $$ items he came to me, and would allow no one else to supply him..... If it is the nozzle....I don't know of any other way to clear it, other than through a soak.... The nature of an atomizer is such that even the finest wire or drill (and these can get pretty tiny) would mess up the " atomizing " result.... But maybe even it wasn't true atomizer afterwards, would be better if it worked...? Regards.... -- W. Thought I'd mention this..... Colleen...*Hi Colleen*... mentioned that she got a little flack when she mentioned on another list she was gonna redo one of her syn things.....to NP.... And also that she also got more support....privately.... Do it....and make converts.... The syn pallette is only limited by the lab.... Weird stuff, oft times....off the wall..... And that's OK, if that's what yer customers are into...... I have nothing against folks that do syns...... NP is a different set of rules... NP is strong enough, now (Thank ya, Anya)...that it can claim its own realm.... Now...I'm an older AT guy..... And BTW, List Mom.....the concept of an Aromatherapy Perfume is only valid, if it *heals*.... Has nothing to do with the components or number of them... It would not follow the fundamental precepts of NP.....or maybe it would...it all depends... Because it's AT based..... It's a different Way.... Anyway.... I walked into a Witch (Wiccan) place, about 8(?) years ago...... Downtown Milwaukee... All kindsa weird essences for sale.... FO crap.....4-8oz..... And....they didn't even have an ephemeris for that year, which is what I was looking for... Sniffed some of the " essences " .... I looked at the main lady and said....*These* *ain't* *real*... OK, OK, I grinned....... Aw Shit.....being Hedge Wizard, before I knew I was..... She *Cursed* me....... I told her....You *can't* Curse me, because your Basis of Curse is False....<G>.... Two years....the place was gone.... Nothing I did, but I hate to think of alla that crap in the sewer..... Sometimes I wonder, though..... Even if what ya do things True...... Life has been interesting, of Late.... -- W. Bourbonais L'Hermite Aromatique Hedge Wizard

If that does not work, then I might be able to replace the nozzle if I can match the bottle opening - long shot! I was hoping to clean them out and use them for my beginning perfume experiments! From reading all the posts for the past year - it seems like you have done just about everything (meaning jobs). Your stories are always very funny. Thanks, Diane

I still believe there can be a thing as an Aromatherapy Perfume, without a negative connotation to the term..... It's just that I have to learn more of this perfumery art, so I can meld the two concepts.... Loves back.... -- W.
