So what did they do to get you to sleep or what did you do?

Hello

Back when I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in 2001, I wasn't able to sleep at all because my lungs would fill up with blood as soon as I laid down. The Doctors went on about how there's no cure, blah blah blah, I told them to just get me to the point where I could sleep and I would take care of the rest. Well, they thought I would be dead within two to five years but I'm still kicking so sleeping does help...

Regards,

..

Hello They put me on a lot of diuretics (Lasix at first, then Torsemide) to reduce the fluids and they put me on digoxin to strengthen the heart beat.   It's probably the diuretics that got me to the point where I could sleep without drowning.   I'm no longer on Lasix or Torsemide or many of the other meds that they initially put me on.   I'm still taking a lot of meds but aside from Coreg and Hyzaar, most of the heart meds have gone by the wayside, most of the treatment is for diabetes now (that only started being an issue a year after the heart problems).Regards,On Sep 27, 2006, at 8:09 AM, Granada Family wrote:So what did they do to get you to sleep or what did you do? Hello Back when I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in 2001, I wasn't able to sleep at all because my lungs would fill up with blood as soon as I laid down.   The Doctors went on about how there's no cure, blah blah blah, I told them to just get me to the point where I could sleep and I would take care of the rest.   Well, they thought I would be dead within two to five years but I'm still kicking so sleeping does help...Regards,.

Hi ,My dh is suppose to be taken diuretics, though I haven't seen what it is he is suppose to be taken. He hates taking any type of meds. Been trying to make sure he takes his BP meds twice a day, have to leave them by the coffee pot. ugh another kid in the house.Glad to hear something is helping with the sleep. They put me on a lot of diuretics (Lasix at first, then Torsemide) to reduce the fluids and they put me on digoxin to strengthen the heart beat.
