Uncle Vern,Here's some thoughts on your request. Please use or abuse as you will. I had to do some conversions on my Mac for this, so let me know if you can't find any comments on your copy.

I was appointed to this Health System Transformation Team by our Governor Kitzhaber, MD who values chiropractic physicians, views us as "primary care providers" and believes we will be very instrumental in helping to address the shortage of primary care providers. The "Triple Aim" to which is referred to in these documents is a reference to Don Berwick, MD head of the US HHS Centers for Medicaid and Medicare and who is the father of the "Triple Aim." The triple aim are goals key to true health care reform acording to Berwick and are as follows, 1. Improve the health of a defined population. 2. Reduce the per capita costs, 3. Improve consumer/patient satisfaction and safety and whom better than us to achieve this goals. Oregon passed it's own universal health care law in 2009 (HB-2009) our state's version of the US Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) and this group is key as in gaining a level playing field for my colleagues. I know how busy you all are and understand this is asking a heck of a lot and will understand if you simply don't have the time to view read and respond, To The Continued Good Fight, Vern Saboe, DC, DACAN, FICC, DABFP, FACO ACA Delegate (Oregon) Lobbyist, Oregon Chiropractic Association Health System Transformation Team - Feb 23rd meeting materials Team members, I'm attaching some materials for our meeting this Wednesday. One of the design requirements outlined is a set of robust metrics to which the responsible organizations would be held accountable. To get us started, I'm attaching some draft categories/domains divided into each of the triple aims to get us started and focused. After each section, I've included an area for your comments and suggestions. If you send suggestions back to me by Tuesday morning, we will send out an amended document before the meeting. These domains/categories will be part of the work we'll do in small group sessions this week. For each of the domains, there will be individual performance metrics, and we've attached a table showing some examples of those. These are examples of individual indicators for illustration only. It will require a significant amount of work and attention to develop the specific indicators and we will be working closely in partnership with stakeholders over the next several months to develop those. We'll have an agenda posted Tuesday as well. We'll be back at Willamette University on Wednesday night from 6 to 9, back in the Putnam University Center cafeteria. Let me know if you have any questions. Tina Tina Edlund Deputy Director for Planning and Policy Implementation Oregon Health Authority (503) 781-7179
