Guest guest
I am not posting this to DREDGE up all the smack that was given to for being on Oprah. This was posted on the Body for Life tracker site from another champion that knows . Here are 's OWN words: The Oprah question? by: Adair 3/17/2005 6:09:19 PM ------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- Let me first say, it was an honor to appear on the Oprah show. She was gracious, kind, and truly appreciative of what I accomplished. Oprah's staff was also a joy to work with, very professional and encouraging. I need to stress here: Every minute of her show is scripted and edited to the second. I spent approximately 6 hours of taping at my home and the gym with the Oprah film crew – we had a great time! It was reduced down to a 30-second video clip. So much information was left out. The show taping took 1 ½ hours. Do the math, with commercials, total airtime is probably closer to 45 minutes. Obviously you can see the amount of editing that was done. I wish you could have seen me on my video talking about adding the protein powder to my oatmeal. I wish you could have seen my conversation with Oprah on her stage sharing how the physical change I made to my body pales in comparison to the mental and spiritual change I experienced, etc. So, the big question: Why didn't you mention BFL? Believe me, I plead my case to the producers, but I was overruled. Oprah has very close ties to Bob Greene - his program, his own best selling book, etc. In their opinion, my talking about BFL would potentially present confusion and a conflict. I respectfully disagree; this was my opportunity to let the world know what we all know. Also, if you have ever appeared on the Oprah show with lights, cameras, 300 audience members and millions of viewers – in a bikini, no less, you will understand how unnerving it can be to be spontaneous and natural. Again, it came down to scripting and editing. I have been associated with EAS/BFL for 7 years now. I changed my life – and my career because I believe passionately in what BFL represents. I love helping people change their body AND change their life. Perhaps if more of us share our success stories with Harpo Productions, maybe one of YOU will be the first to go on to freely and enthusiastically talk about the power of BFL. I hope this answers most of your questions – now lets get back to work and go after your dreams! Happy St. 's Day!
