I like the large print other wise I have to enlarge it before I can comfortably read it. I am having cataract surgery that hopefully will make that not necessary. Even if in the future I don't need the large print I think others will utilize the large print.

I have not seen it on this site but have encountered it on other sites. Certain color combinations make it so that I have to edit it to read, regardless of size. Black and blue on white or light background are best for me.

LARGE PRINT

Some of our folks on here write in large script because it is hard for them to see, they are not yelling just making it easier on them and some of our other friends (me too)... :o)

I understand that. I have thought about making my type

larger so it would be easier on those folks. When the

print size gets to be more than an inch tall, the

glare from the screen hurts my eyes. I don't know why.

It just does.

I agree with Willow. When too large, it is difficult to read. The size that willow is displaying is about the smallest I can read comfortably. I've also noticed that the bold print is very difficult to read.

Again,

Here is my input. Too big is as bad for me as too small. Funny but I can

read it better if it is bold as lighter type lacks contrast. Willow's type

below is good for me.

I have never even thought about large print being considered as shouting.

But when it is all caps, I do get that feeling.

Try the all-new . "The New Version is radically easier to use" – The Wall Street Journal

I believe 10 is the standard. 12 or 14 is large. Also the type makes a difference. This is Times New Roman. I read, perhaps on this site, that Arial this one is easier to read.

You are right

this is what I found, that manual typewriters(I couldn't believe they actually still sell manual typewriters) have a pitch of 10, 12 and 15 but standard is 10 and even that for me, I think that is small. I think I only remembered the 12 cause it is in the middle. LOL and this talk makes me feel old. We only had one computer when I was in high school, goes to show how much technology has changed in the last 22 years. LOL

ok, this is confusing for me

Pica,

1.

a 12-point type of a size between small pica and English.

2.

the depth of this type size as a unit of linear measurement for type, pages containing type, etc.; one sixth of an inch.

3.

a 12-point type, widely used for typewriters, having 10 characters to the inch.

sorry, just nosy, i learn something new every day.

I believe 10 is the standard. 12 or 14 is large. Also the type makes a difference. This is Times New Roman. I read, perhaps on this site, that Arial this one is easier to read.
