Allured Publishing -- friends of Natural Perfumery

Hi Everyone

It's been some time since I posted about Allured Publishing

http://allured.com and how responsive they've been to NP. It all

started in Jan. 06 when now-Guild-member Mark of Renaissance

Aromas contacted them about Arctander's classic book. He told the

book editor how we longed for an affordable way to obtain the NP

volume, which was bundled with two non-NP volumes and cost $900. So

what did the lovely editor do? She separated out the volume we

searching for the rare copy on ebay or amazon, it was up around

$600-700, so this move by Allured made it much more accessible to us. Bravo!

You can search the archives for how many times the book is

referenced. It is a necessity in the library of a serious student or

professional NP'er. Now I see they have a new volume on Natural and

Organic Ingredients in Cosmetics:

prepublication discount until May 11th. That's why I'm placing this

off-Thursday ad for them, I just discovered it and I think some of

you that make cosmetics maybe VERY interested in it.

Also...I've been contacted first, to complete a survey for them on

the feasibility of a NP newsletter, and now, because they're further

along on the road to putting one together. It is very exciting to see

our young art, as we're just getting it off the ground, getting such

recognition from such a prestigious industry publisher. Some of you

may remember when I reported that Jeb Allured-Gleason moderated the

Fragrance Foundation panel on Naturals in NYC last June. He was very

receptive to Mandy (also on the panel) and naturals. In fact, the

nice blurb you see from Mandy on the Arctander book was taken from

Essence and Alchemy and forwarded by me to the editor. It's a nice

relationship ;-)
