I wasn't too mad. My next door neighbor asked why I didn't spank

her??? and I said, " Would you be mad if I put you down for a nap with

poop in your pants. " Exactly. She had a very understandable response

to being put to bed and pooping in her diaper. She does not like to

have a dirty diaper.

She is really independent and she knows how to get undressed. We tried

to potty train her this past weekend, but she ended up screaming at us

every time we asked her, " Do you need to go potty? " I guess we asked

her too much.

Can I put my two cents in? First of all is Annie at least two years old? Sometimes its futility to try to potty train a baby under that age.They are not ready. Are you sure that she is well , does not have a slight infection or whatever, start with a physical!

To properly train a kid is to be patient with them, cannot be done in a couple of days! Start off by making it a game, I had one that went for 3 years before he would get trained. I wondered if he would go to kindergarten in diapers, he did not!

I made training a game, got him new underwear, told him this is for a BIG Kid who goes to the toilet no more diapers!! Bribed him with a treat for going and not wetting or pooping in pants!, lots of praise also, no angry actions or words on our part.

Within a couple of weeks he was going to the toilet and performing admirably with few accidents.

Some kids are just not ready to toilet train, you get frustrated to hell., best keep calm, Annie will not go to school with diapers on I assure you!

Take a nonchalant attitude and do not make a case when she has an accident, sometimes kids have an occasional one until 6 or 7 years old.

Annie will be two next month. When Rory was two I watched all his

play date friends go through training, Moms reading books and all

activities centered around places with potties close. They put a lot

of pressure on me to try and train Rory at the same time, but I

didn't. He wasn't even interested. We trained him the week after

Annie was born while Daddy was at home to help, a month before his

3rd birthday. My son's biggest hang up was smelling his poop and

gagging, so once we figured that out the rest was easy.

Annie is independent. At 11 months I found her standing in the toilet

playing with the roll of paper, waste deep in paper and toilet water.

Scary. She loves to go potty, on her terms. She flushes, whipes and

tells us when she wants to go. She just isn't consistent yet, so we

use pullups. She perfers them. We are not, under any circumstances

going to push her. This past weekend I had just bought her Dora

underware and she wanted to wear them only, so I thought lets try it

for a day. It only lasted a couple of hours and she was sick of the

potty game.

I can wait, so can she.

I feel for you Dawn, just be patient, she will come around, she is just a kid who is not quite ready for the big time!

My daughter is pretty smart.

Her 3rd birthday, I told her that she is a big girl now and big girls don't wear diapers, they wear underwear.

She decided she was a big girl, she wore underwear, she had one accident after that and that was it.

My boys they were both 3 when they potty trained. I don't remember the oldest but I know the youngest learned faster being in Head Start.
