Perfumer and Flavorist items of interest

Hi Everyone:

The P & FNow newsletter is really something you should sign up for, if

you already haven't. The latest issue has an interview with the

Founder of Biolandes

hosting a fee-based Webinar next week on IFRA/QRA ($79, I believe.)

You'll find the subscribe link on the page.

Anyone like to comment on the Biolandes article? I hope he is wrong,

personally and professionally in his opening statement about:

>The trend toward concentration among the key players in flavors and

>fragrances is still going on, with the acquisition of Danisco's

>flavors division by Firmenich, coming after Givaudan's acquisition

>of Quest. I believe things will probably continue to move in that

>direction. This consolidation is made necessary by the concentration

>on the luxury and food markets, as well as the big companies' desire

>to limit their core lists to three suppliers.

I would like to see a groundswell of new sources for aromatics, not

more consolidation of the industry. The rest of the interview would,

in fact, seem to indicated he's bucking that trend ;-)
