You are so talented! Keep > > the member photos coming everyone! > > Andrine replies: I did actually have a friend, who is a theatrical costumer, put together my dress and my husband's coat. I picked all the material and did all the finish work on them. But as for the rest of the stuff, a friend and I made my husband's pants, and I piece-mealed the rest of the seven outfits from this and that. I bought some old theater costumes (not first-line quality -- sort of village theater stuff) and took them all apart, re-cut and re-made them (was cheaper than buying yardage and trying to make patterns). I drove everyone nuts with fittings. Then I added miles of yardage and trim, including some of my grandmother's lace curtains (for sleeves, hems, jabots and ruff). Made the knee breeches out of thrift shop pants (stole all the knee-buckles from my Birkenstock sandals -- ha ha!). And sewed on more buttons than anyone could imagine sewing in a lifetime! So, I'm not the seamstress that I'd like to be -- just a hack. But it did put on a good show. Aniba -- Many thanks for your kind words. And I love to hear of yours and others' weddings. Such a great opportunity to throw terrific party! And hearing of all the ways folks choose to say, " I do " is so fun! Andrine
