Guest guest
Would depend on what your going to use them for. You can throw them in a salad and eat them whole. If you are using it for a shake, I'd get liquid. Ann
Guest guest
Maybe a > coffee grinder? Hi Marilyn, Yes, get a coffee grinder for your flax and then use it only for grinding the flax seeds. This way you don't have to worry about it goofing up your coffee beans. I used to have a cheap, $10, coffee grinder but it quit after about a year. So I invested in one from Bed, Bath and Beyond for about $30 and it really grinds the seeds into a fine powder. I like that better. It will probably gross you out, but I just dump the tablespoon of ground flax seed in a glass of water, stir, and drink. Anne

Guest guest
Hi Aimee, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My sister has it. There are days she can't get out of bed. I read flax seed helped with many problems that had to do with the immune system. Maggie On Apr 22, 2005, at 9:51 PM, Aimee M. Guest guest
I used to have alot of symptoms in common with that, but since I started eating right, I have much less fatigue and hardly any pains Margaret on wrote: > Hi Aimee, > > > Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. > My sister has it. Guest guest
Thanks Anne! I usually put the ground up flax seed on my oatmeal in the morning. I used to have one of those cheap coffee grinders too but it died years ago -- time to invest in a new (better) one! Guest guest
I buy Barlean's Forti-Flax. It's a big tub of flax seeds that are already ground. I put a couple of heaping tablespoons on my cereal in the morning. They're also good sprinkled on salad. I love the ground seeds but I'm too lazy and kitchen inept to grind them myself. Just thought I'd mention Forti-Flax as option for people who don't glug oil or own a coffee grinder.
Guest guest
You buy them off the shelf, but once you open the air-tight container they need to be refrigerated. They have a " milled on " and " best before " date on the side of the tub so you know you're getting the freshest seeds. I imagine they would go bad eventually but there's a six-month window between the two dates. I usually go through a container every 3-4 weeks.
