Welcome! Could you share your name? I'd like to pray for you if that is OK.

I feel for what you're going through. I can't really imagine though having

never had something so serious as cancer.

As for myself I have fibromyalgia plus a ton of other crap. Mostly not very

interesting. I take 24 Rx meds a day plus some supplements and vitamins. It

seems like my day revolves around taking the meds,,is it time to take them,

what am I supposed to take now, can I eat yet, etc. I don't work and I

think it would be really hard. My hat is off to anyone who does. If that is

not enough my daughter was born with cystic fibrosis. She had a rough time

growing up and we spent lots of time in the doctor's office, clinic and in

the hospital. She is on breathing treatments everyday, certain meds (not as

many as me!) and does what's called a Thairapy Vest to keep her lungs clear.

It does what we used to do by pounding her chest and back. She's had the

Vest since age 13. Before that it was usually chest pt by me or her dad

twice daily or more if she was sick. I think her cf may have brought on my

fibro, as all the worry and stress of having a chronically ill child is

pretty traumatic. We almost lost her twice and that didn't help. Plus her

best friend died at 15 and since then hasn't wanted to have much to

do with other cfers... guess I can't blame her. It's hard getting close to

people when you're afraid they might die on you. Fortunately for us, now

Ang is doing very well, she hasn't needed to go in the hospital for over 2

years and is in general very healthy. I don't have a clue why as most people

with cf get sicker as they get older instead of better. I guess she is an

unusual case. I am just thankful to the Lord!

Oh I have an appointment with my pain doc tomorrow and I am going to see if

they will switch my maintenance med or at least up the dose. Right now I am

on methadone 15 mg twice a day. I've been having quite a flare lately and

having to take hot baths everynight due to my legs hurting so bad. I have

been saving my " breakthrough " pain meds (hydrocodone/Apap aka Norco) until

night time to take and it keeps me awake so I haven't been sleeping well

either. I am on Lunesta and it's useless, I took a whole bunch--about 6 or

7-- Thurs AM at 5 as I hadn't been able to get to sleep and they didn't

really work, I did sleep from 6 am till about 10 am. I took a nap from

about 3:30-7. That may be why I can't sleep at night plus the Norco but I

just can't stay awake in the late afternoon. If I don't go to bed I sleep in

the living room chair.

ok enough sorry so long! Please do let us know your name and I will be

praying for you.

love & hugs,

45 w/ fibro, mom of Nick age 23 and age 22 w/ cf.
