-Crystal,

If you have access to any small time supplement stores, I would try

those. Let them know your goals and ask questions. If they are

knowledgable, double check their thoughts with online info before you

buy anything. Some places actually do hire people that really know

this stuff.

You can also check out bodybuilding.com, they seem to have a good bit

of info on supplements.

I would also suggest stearing away from GNC or Vitamin World. If you

go there to check out new products, great--but they will break your

bank very fast. Those places are such a rip off.

I buy everything online for 1/2 the price almost always. GNC told me

that they can't compete with online stores. Very true.

I was lucky enough to find a small time nutrition store owner that

knows his stuff and practices something similar to Body for life

himself. His best attribute is offering suggestions to me without

trying to sell me something. Hope you can find someone like this near

you.

As far as supplements to use, just do your own research and find what

works for you. I take Betagen and ThermoDynamx and have had great

results. But, we all respond differently to diet, exercise and

supplementation.

Best of Luck,

le

PhosphagenHP has 140 calories and 34g of sugar per serving compared to

20 calories and no sugar in the Betagen. They both contain creatine

but Phosphagen comes with a sugary transport to spike insulin levels.

It's a good supplement, but probably not the best choice if your main

goal is fat loss.

Both GNC and Vitamin World have pretty generous return and exchange

policies even if you've opened and used something. Don't pay more than

about $39 for a 90 serving tub of Betagen though. I've seen it at GNC

for like $78, which is INSANE! I nearly passed out from laughing so

hard. I don't know how they get away with that.

They get away with it because GNC makes their own 'knockoff' products

at a lesser price that they put right next to the name brand. They all

have similar names - EAS's BetaGEN is right next to their BetaGAIN.

How many people go in there looking for the EAS product and end up

with their brand because its half the price with similar ingredients?

Alot I would guess, so its smart marketing.

Altho I pickup vitamins, EFA's and other goodies at my local

healthfood store (Burts Bees, KissMyFace, etc)I almost exclusively

shop for other supplements online - you just cant beat the prices at

either VitaGlo, Netrition or BodyBuilding.com - shop around!

My understanding of Betagen is that it is Creatine and EAS's HMB formula put

together. I take a different Creatine and HMB separately. They don't jack

me up, but I don't do well with anything but liquid creatine. So, uh, the

short answer is yes.

Ok good. I figured it was but it's a new supplement to me so I didn't want to do

anything

to freak myself out LOL... Should you take it on days you don't work out too?

I don't know this will answer your question or cause you more

confusion, but there's always The Big Betagen/Creatine E-Mail that's a

collection of posts on the subject:

Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. It's a new supplement to me so I want to

make sure

I use it properly and I am a scale watcher so I need to understand I may gain a

bit with

this. I will use it but I am going to get into the program for a month or so

first. Lose the

initial water weight etc... then go ahead and take the Betagen. Thanks!!
